Elizabeth Bacher - Music Biography

A graduate of The Juilliard School, Elizabeth Bacher is a prizewinning violinist and pianist who has been featured on international concert stages, television, and radio. She began her musical studies at the age of 3, appearing on television and as a concerto soloist by the age of 8. She has performed at the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Salle Gaveau in Paris, Academia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Carnegie Hall, Benaroya Hall in Seattle and the Konzerthaus in Berlin; as well as local to Los Angeles at the Dolby Theater. 

During her childhood music studies, she attended the New England Conservatory and Longy School of Music preparatory divisions, moving to London to study with pedagogue Zakhar Bron at the Royal Academy of Music while attending The Purcell School of Music.  At SUNY Purchase College, she completed a Bachelor’s degree in piano and violin while also studying creative writing. 

Elizabeth completed her graduate studies at The Juilliard School with Robert Mann and Joel Smirnoff. She was a fellow of Michael Tilson Thomas’ New World Symphony in Miami Beach, where she performed in three tours as well as additional solo and chamber concerts. After returning to New York City, she was awarded a German Academic Exchange grant. While in New York, Elizabeth performed a solo violin and piano recital at Carnegie Hall, including the premiere of a piece written for her by Dan Tepfer featuring violin and piano played simultaneously by one person. 

Elizabeth is currently based in Los Angeles, where she is also an arts and culture photographer. She collaborates with artists of different genres and enjoys the proliferation of creative talent. She has performed at celebrity weddings such as the wedding of George Lucas and Melody Hobson at Skywalker Ranch. Her violin solos can be heard in films such as Inheritance, Poppies, and Viva Verdi!
