Elizabeth Bacher, Violin
A graduate of The Juilliard School, Elizabeth Bacher is a prizewinning violinist and pianist who has been featured on international concert stages, television, and radio. She began her musical studies at the age of 3, appearing on television and as a concerto soloist by the age of 8. She has performed at the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Salle Gaveau in Paris, Academia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Carnegie Hall in New York, Benaroya Hall in Seattle and the Konzerthaus in Berlin; as well as local to Los Angeles at the Dolby Theater.
During her early music studies, she attended New England Conservatory and Longy School of Music preparatory divisions. She moved to London to attend The Purcell School with private lessons with Zakhar Bron at the Royal Academy of Music. She attended SUNY Purchase College, studying piano, violin with Laurie Smukler, and creative writing, completing her graduate studies at The Juilliard School with Robert Mann and Joel Smirnoff. Elizabeth was also a violin fellow of Michael Tilson Thomas’ New World Symphony in Miami Beach, performing in solo and chamber concerts as well as orchestra tours. After returning to New York City, she was awarded a German Academic Exchange grant. While in New York, Elizabeth performed a solo violin and piano recital at Carnegie Hall to include the premiere of a piece written for her by Dan Tepfer featuring violin and piano played simultaneously by one person.
Elizabeth is currently based in Los Angeles. She enjoys collaborating with artists of different genres and the city’s prolific mix of media. She played for the wedding of George Lucas and Melody Hobson at Skywalker Ranch, and her solos can be heard in the films Inheritance, Poppies, and Viva Verdi!.
